As Aeristech continues to grow, we are recruiting a diligent and versatile Finance Business Partner to join our Finance Team and make an impact supporting our rapidly evolving business.

Project Accountant

Aeristech is a start-up SME engineering company enabling carbon reduction across a range of sectors with unique high-speed electric motor IP. We are continuing to grow our diverse and highly skilled team with UK government backing through Innovate UK and collaborations with leading companies including Cummins and GKN Aerospace.

Our Finance team play a key role in supporting the growth of the business and interactions with investors, partners and government agencies. We are looking for a diligent and versatile Finance Business Partner who is passionate about making an impact through their professional skillset.

Responsibilities & Tasks

The successful candidate will work under the mentorship of the Financial Controller to:
  • Business partner with departmental heads to develop and provide meaningful management information to support business decision making
  • Take ownership of all BEIS grant reporting, including preparation of audit packs for submission to grant providers and monitoring officers
  • Support preparation of monthly management accounts including journal preparation, performance analysis and commentary for areas of responsibility
  • Lead on the development of financial models for the finance function as required; including maintaining and enhancing existing business plan and forecast models
  • Take responsibility for sales and margin forecasting working with business heads to deliver
  • Take ownership of stock movement review/analysis ensuring that robust controls are in place to ensure the financial integrity of stock numbers
  • Lead on Aeristech China accounts and review of balances for consolidated accounts
  • Support the team to ensure proper, efficient and robust accounting and financial management processes, controls and reports are in place and delivered upon; including undertaking monthly balance sheet reconciliations for own accounts
  • Work with other team members to ensure financial ledgers are appropriately maintained including oversight of the purchase ledger and acting as a mentor to the Purchase Ledger clerk
  • To support ad hoc finance activities as necessary

Qualifications and experience

  •  Highly skilled in Excel (VlookUps /SumIfs/Pivot Tables) including development of financial models
  • Knowledge of SAP desirable
  • Would suit a part qualified or recently qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA)


£35,000 - £40,000/annum + standard benefits
