This is a great role for an experienced embedded software engineer to join us at Aeristech in our office in Warwickshire. Working as part of a dedicated team you will take ownership of the technical delivery of software activities across priority projects to ensure timelines and cost targets are achieved. 

Senior Embedded Software Engineer

Join our progressive team at Aeristech as a Senior Embedded Software Engineer in this crucial role. As we expand and transition to volume manufacturing, your role will be crucial in ensuring our success. Responsibilities include the delivery of requested software changes to a variety of high priority projects . Experience of supporting systems engineering processes and software development is essential. A Degree in Engineering or Computer Science related discipline is required as a minimum. Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical delivery of software activities to meet timescale and cost targets for R&D products and customer projects. 
  • Technical ownership of embedded software for a range of vehicle domains through development and validation of electrical and electronic systems.
  • Develop control algorithms for very high speed (200kRPM) motor control using C code, Matlab and Simulink.
  • Develop software to Automotive and Aerospace industry standard safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262).
  • Support system integration, provide debugging capability during development and deliver production ready solutions.
  • Interface with suppliers and partners with technical requirements and feedback for existing and new designs.

Essential Skills

  • Degree qualified in an Engineering or Computer Science related discipline is a minimum.
  • Experience of embedded firmware development, deployed onto and interfacing with bespoke hardware.
  • Experience of model-based software development and tools (e.g. Simulink). 
  • Significant experience of C language in real-time embedded systems.

  • Experience with systems and software modelling languages (e.g. UML, SysML) and tools (e.g. Simulink, Targetlink).
  • Experience of software version control tools (e.g. Git, SVN).
  • Experience of communication protocols (CAN, UDS, J1939, ARINC).
  • Experience of software development to AUTOSAR and MISRA standards and guidelines.
  • Experience in DFMEA, Safety Requirements and Software Programming on Safety Critical Systems/Functions.

Desirable Knowledge and Experience

  • Knowledge of the design of functional safety compliant software, as per ISO26262 or DO-178.
  • Experience working as part of a small team.

  We offer flexible working as required, but this is predominantly an onsite role.

Salary

 Range £45-75k depending on experience
